Three rubber materials for daily use

There are many different manufacturing process materials for rubber seals, and the adaptation methods of different rubber materials are also different. The following are the three commonly used materials for the production of rubber seals, their advantages, performance conditions and adaptation environments.

1. Nitrile rubber

Oil-resistant seals and nitrile rubber dominate. Nitrile rubber has excellent resistance to fuel oil and aromatic solvents, but it is not resistant to ketones, esters, hydrogen chloride and other substances in the medium. Neoprene: Neoprene also has good corrosion resistance to inorganic acids. In addition, because neoprene has good flexibility and gas impermeability, it can be used as a diaphragm and vacuum sealing product. Neoprene rubber has good oil resistance and solvent resistance. It has good resistance to gear oil and transformer oil, but it is not resistant to aromatic oils. Neoprene rubber also has excellent weather resistance and ozone aging properties. The cross-linking rupture temperature of neoprene is above 200°C, and the door and window sealing strips generally use neoprene.

2. Natural rubber

Compared with most synthetic rubbers, natural rubber has good comprehensive mechanical properties, good cold resistance, good elasticity and good wear resistance. Among vegetable oils and ethanol, natural rubber is not resistant to mineral oil, but it is relatively stable. The utility model adopts a brake fluid mixed with n-butanol and refined sesame oil to form a rubber bowl of a hydraulic brake system as a sealing element, and the rubber ring is made of natural rubber, and is generally made of natural rubber. Fluorine rubber: good high temperature resistance (200~250℃), good oil resistance, can be used to manufacture cylindrical sleeve sealing ring, rubber bowl, rotary lip sealing ring, long service life.

3. Silicone rubber

Silicone rubber has excellent resistance to high and low temperature, ozone and weather resistance. In the working temperature range of -70~260℃, it can maintain its unique flexibility, ozone resistance and weather resistance. It is suitable for thermal mechanisms. In the production of required gaskets, such as strong light source lampshade gaskets, valve gaskets, etc. Because silicone rubber is not oil-resistant, has low mechanical strength and is expensive, it is not suitable for making oil-resistant sealing products.
