Comparison of rubber product molding

Two commonly used molding methods for general rubber products are molded rubber seals and extruded rubber strips. These two rubber product molding methods have different application ranges and advantages and disadvantages. So what is the difference between molded rubber sealing strip and extruded rubber strip?

During the manufacturing process, different molded rubber seals are heated and pressurized in a closed mold cavity to form rubber seals. In general, the refined rubber material is put into the cavity of the heated mold, and then the closed mold is pressurized to form and vulcanize, and then demolded.

Usually, the extruder, die and corresponding auxiliary equipment such as setting and pulling are selected for extruding the rubber strip, and then the extrusion process conditions of screw speed, head pressure, material temperature, setting temperature and pulling speed are determined. The extruded belt needs further vulcanization.

Advantages and disadvantages of molded rubber seals

advantage:

Can be made into various shapes

Products with high precision and beautiful appearance rules

Disadvantages:

Can only make products with smaller specifications

Long production cycle and low efficiency During the production process, a lot of burrs and waste will be generated

High cost and long development cycle.

Advantages and disadvantages of extruded rubber strips:

Strong production capacity, less waste; cheap molds, convenient and quick development.

Disadvantages:

Can only be made into bars

The accuracy is a bit poor, and some shapes are difficult to produce
